Karen graduated from University of Toronto in 2021 with an Honour Bachelor of Science, Pathobiology (specialist) and Sociology (minor). As a part of the inaugural class of Amgen Scholar Canada Program, she worked on medicinal chemistry, drug screening, and ADME studies of small molecules during her times as a research assistant at Ontario Institute on Cancer Research. Intrigued by the ongoing conversation around Aducaumab and Alzheimer's disease, she then moved from Toronto to Boston to work with Dr. Granger on characterizing lysosomal proteomics in the context of Alzheimer's disease. Her hobbies include reading, baking, and playing hammered dulcimer.
