Yang Ge, PhD

Yang Ge is a postdoctoral researcher in the Granger group. He has a passion for improving the understanding and treatment of debilitating neurological diseases including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Currently, Yang is using electrophysiology and other in vitro and in vivo techniques to understand the circuitry and synaptic deficits underlying a novel mice model of schizophrenia.

Prior to joining the Granger group, Yang completed his PhD in neuroscience under the supervision of Dr. Yu Tian Wang at the University of British Columbia, Canada. During his PhD research, he developed novel glutamate n-methyl-d-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) positive allosteric modulators as memory enhancers. He also holds a B.Sc in psychology from McGill university.
