Ditte Demontis
Ditte Demontis is professor in psychiatric genetics at Aarhus University. The main focus of her research group is to identify biological mechanism underlying externalizing childhood psychiatric disorders and substance use disorders based on large-scale genetic studies of millions of common and rare genetic variants from thousands of individuals. E.g. she spearheaded the two recent genome-wide association studies of ADHD, which revealed the first genome-wide significant loci for ADHD and the large genetic studies identifying the first robust risk loci for cannabis use disorder. Additionally, she performs cross-disorders large-scale genetic studies to identify shared genetic risk factors and biological mechanisms of psychiatric disorders and weight related phenotypes and cardiometabolic disorders.
