Sanchari Datta
I received my Integrated BS-MS degree in biology at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata in 2015, and Ph.D. in Cell Biology from UTSouthwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas in 2020. In my graduate research, I characterized the function of an inter-organelle contact-site protein involved in lipid metabolism related to cerebellar ataxia-associated neurological disorders, utilizing confocal microscopy and proximity labeling-based biochemical techniques. As a postdoc at WashU Medical Center in St Louis, I applied chemoproteomic profiling based on bioorthogonal click chemistry technique and targeted lipidomics to study lipid-protein interactions using mass spectrometry. Currently, as a postdoc at Broad Institute in Claussnitzer lab, I am interested in mapping genetic variants associated with metabolic diseases to cellular programs and functions using natural variation screen and high content-image based approaches.
