Thouis “Ray” Jones is a senior scientist at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, and a principal investigator in the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Genomic Mechanisms of Disease.  His current research is focused on measuring the regulatory effects of common variants in disease-relevant cell types, understanding the underlying mechanisms of gene regulation, and high-content image analysis for phenotypic assays. Ray was a cofounder of the CellProfiler project, an open-source software tool for cell-image analysis and a powerful resource for the biomedical community.  Ray received his Sc.D. in computer science from MIT and conducted postdoctoral research within the BioPhenics Platform at the Institut Curie in France.
