Ned Martenis

Research Associate III

William “Ned” Martenis is a therapeutics group research associate affiliated with the Pan and Sheng labs, where he primarily develops, troubleshoots, and runs high-throughput assays designed to better understand psychiatric disease. Most prominently, Ned is working on a drug discovery project that aims to tackle the unmet needs of schizophrenia through developing selective glutamate receptor potentiators. Ned earned his BA in biochemistry, chemistry, and economics and his BM in music performance (flute) from Lawrence University in 2019. When not engaged in staring contests with automated liquid handlers, Ned enjoys live music, board games, and taking pictures of his cat.
